Woman reports sexual assault in broad daylight on a footpath in Bristol

A man has been arrested after a woman reported being sexually assaulted in Bristol. Avon and Somerset Police said the alleged offense took place in Stapleton on Monday 17 June.

A woman, in her 40s, told police she was sexually assaulted while walking on Wickham Glen, a footpath linking Park Road and the Frome Valley Walkway, at around 1pm. A man, aged in his 30s, was subsequently arrested yesterday afternoon, Wednesday 19 June.



Avon and Somerset Police said: “Local officers are carrying out extra high visibility security patrols and we encourage anyone with concerns to speak to them.

“We continue to appeal to anyone who can assist with our enquiries, or who may have been the victim of a similar crime and has not yet been reported to the police, to contact us online or call 101 and quote reference number 5224156250 or complete our online appeal form. “
