Liverpool ‘making contact’ over Khvicha Kvaratskhelia transfer as planned talks emerge

It remains to be seen what Liverpool will do for their first signing of the summer.

Arne Slot will be busy assessing his squad before taking charge of pre-season training next month. Slot is Liverpool’s new head coach and gave his first interview with the club’s media channel on Wednesday.

Work will be underway behind the scenes as Liverpool prepare to strengthen their squad ahead of the new Premier League season. Rumors have already been circulating as to which players the Reds could target, and that’s not likely to change for a few months at least.

According to Caught Offside, Liverpool have stepped up their interest in signing Napoli star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. The report states that the Reds have made an approach to the Serie A club regarding Kvaratskhelia’s availability this summer, with Paris Saint-Germain apparently interested in the Georgia international.

The report claims that Liverpool have contacted Napoli to inquire about the asking price for a potential deal for Kvaratskhelia. This, the article claims, also appears to include potential wage demands for the player who helped Napoli win the Serie A title in the 2022/23 season.

Elsewhere, Liverpool may have been dealt a blow in their reported pursuit of Atalanta midfielder Teun Koopmeiners. The Reds have been credited with an interest in signing the Netherlands international for several months.
