As well as making Rose a multi-millionaire, the Omaze Million Pound House Draw, Cornwall, raised £3.1m for WWF – the world’s leading independent conservation organization working to save endangered species, protecting and restoring habitats and addressing global threats to the planet such as climate change, the food system and deforestation.

WWF works tirelessly with communities, governments, scientists, advocates and business leaders to stop the destruction of nature, ensure a safe climate and bring our world back to life.

WWF works to restore marine wildlife homes and carbon stores around our UK coast through their work with local communities on kelp farming and seagrass planting.

Seaweed farming is an important part of the solution to the climate crisis, which also supports local communities and secures livelihoods.

Growing seaweed for animal feed could one day help reduce deforestation and convert land for pasture and cropland, which are currently responsible for 25 percent of all global greenhouse gas emissions.

Ensuring the UK government tackles the nature and climate crisis alongside food production is also a major priority for WWF, as is empowering young people and teachers to take action on nature and climate.

Funding from the Omaze partnership will help expand the organization’s youth ambassador program to engage more young people in decision-making around nature restoration.

Tanya Steele, CEO at WWF said: “At such a crucial time for our planet, we are delighted and so grateful to Omaze and everyone who took part in the Omaze Million Pound House draw in Cornwall, which raised 3.1 phenomenal millions of pounds for the WWF.

“The money raised through this draw will go towards our vital work protecting wildlife and restoring nature, both on our doorstep in the UK and around the world.

“Thank you Omaze and everyone who entered.

“This partnership will greatly assist us in our fight to bring the world back to life.”
