Cornwall’s hidden gem, Pedn Vounder Beach, likened to Bali for its stunning scenery and tranquility | Nottinghamshire Live

One of England’s most famous beaches has been compared to the serene views of Bali, Indonesia.

It turns out (if the weather behaves and doesn’t pelt it down with rain all day) Britain is actually quite beautiful. We might not realize it, but there are magical beaches with turquoise waters and surf-worthy waves all over the country that attract millions of visitors every year.

Many Brits take their own country for granted, choosing to fly to Spain every year for guaranteed sunshine and golden beaches. But if you time it right, you can enjoy the same natural beauty right on your doorstep, the Mirror reports.

Taking to TikTok, viral account UK Hidden Gems raved about Cornwall’s acclaimed Pedn Vounder, describing it as a ‘coastal gem’. “It enchants visitors with its natural beauty and secluded charm,” the travel account added.

“Tucked away near the village of Treen, this picturesque beach offers breathtaking views and a sense of tranquility that feels like a true escape from the busy world.”

Viewers flocked to the comments section in awe of the beach, with one user stating: “We are lucky to have beaches like this around us.”

Another agreed, commenting: “The most beautiful beach!” While a third added: “Wow, now that’s a beach.”

Many have pointed out that Pedn Vounder isn’t the only stunning beach in Cornwall – while some have said the spot is a hot spot for ‘nudists’. “We were the only ones wearing clothes,” one person recalled.

Located at the end of the Penwith coast near Land’s End, this perfect beach is not the easiest to access. Parking is available at Porthcurno for around £2 followed by a 22 minute walk which includes some steep steps and difficult terrain.

Don’t forget, you’ll also have to climb back up after a day at the beach (or bathed in the clouds).

Parking spaces are limited and fill up quickly, so it is advisable to arrive early to avoid disappointment. The nearest train station is in Penzance, from where you should take a 15-minute taxi journey to Porthcurno to start the mini-trip.

However, even tickets from London to Penzance can be expensive, with costs reaching up to £300 per person.
