Warm temperatures predicted as Liverpool cooks up ‘hotter than Ibiza’ weather

Liverpool will enjoy scorching weather this weekend as temperatures hit higher than Ibiza.

May enjoyed the warmer temperatures later in the week and headed to the city’s wide range of beer gardens. Today’s outlook is even more promising.

According to the Met Office, it will feel warm throughout the day, with temperatures not exceeding 17°C and reaching highs of 23°C between 4pm and 6pm.

It will feel “nicely warm” in the sun with light winds and clouds. The sunset will be just before 21.00.

By comparison, temperatures in Ibiza are forecast to reach a high of 22°C by mid-afternoon.

Similar conditions will continue across Merseyside into tomorrow, although lightning showers are forecast around 5pm, bringing heavy rain and possible hail. The Met Office has therefore issued a yellow warning for thunderstorms.

The rain is expected to continue until 9pm, with temperatures dropping to 17C. Meanwhile, an ‘extreme’ geomagnetic storm from space caused the northern lights to become visible in Merseyside last night. This could be replicated again tonight.

Rain and strong winds will return next week, meaning it will feel much cooler.
