Who will be my MP in… Lewisham North?

Millions of voters in London will go to the polls on July 4 to elect a new government.

The Standard looks at the key battleground and other places in the capital and has published an interactive map. Here we turn on the spotlight:

NORTH LEWISHAM

Candidates for the main parties (in alphabetical order):

Jean Branch – Liberal Democrat

Vicky Foxcroft – Work

Nupur Majumdar – conservative

Edward Powell – The Reformation

Adam Pugh – Green Party

summary:

Lewisham Deptford has been a Labor seat since its creation in 1977. This year the name changes but the boundaries vary only slightly and it remains a Labor stronghold.

Vicky Foxcroft was first elected as an MP for the area in 2015. At the last general election she won 60% of the vote and a majority of 32,913 – one of the largest in the country.

Meanwhile, the Conservatives came second with 11.4% of the vote, just one point ahead of the Lib Dems in third.

This year is the only seat in London where there is a Communist Party candidate, Oliver Snelling is their candidate.
