Obituary: Robin Silverwood – South Leeds Life

I am sad to report the passing of my friend Robin Silverwood.

I knew Robin and Marlene well, going back to when she worked for the Parks department and lived in the old cottages on Town Street. I spoke to them many times at Middleton Elderly Aid and in local cafes.

RIP Robin my friend. Condolences to Marlene and family.

Alison Wain from Middleton Park Baptist Church commented:

“All of us at Middleton Park Baptist Church were deeply saddened to learn of Robin Silverwood’s passing.

“He was a generous, kind and loving man who was a pillar of the local community and also, in later years, a much-loved regular member of our congregation. He will be deeply missed. Our prayers go out to Marlene and the entire family at this time, as well as to her many friends, in whom we also feel privileged to be included.

“May God wrap his arms of loving comfort around all who are grieving at this time. Robin told me recently in the hospital, holding his wooden cross that he loves so much, that he felt the presence of Jesus with him as a friend and told me that although he loves life, he does not fear death because he knew he would. be with his friend and Savior.

“Having recently been released from hospital and then having to return, his death came as a shock to many of us, so we pray that the Lord will comfort us all with his presence and the knowledge that Robin is safe. The Lord in whom he trusted.”
