Manchester United fans compare £85.2m after watching latest Harry Amass clip

Harry Amass is a Manchester United academy player that fans are very excited about and now he has been compared to a world class player.

For Manchester United right now, the academy is in the best place it has been in years and already Erik ten Hag is reaping the rewards of investing in signing prospects.

Last season Willy Kambwala played towards the end, while Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo were regulars in the starting lineup.

But there’s a sense that we haven’t even begun to see how much talent is in the academy at the moment, with the likes of Harry Amass, Shea Lacey and Amir Ibragimov all headed for the top.

Now, Amass has released a training clip which has stunned fans and led to major comparisons with the £85.2m player.

Manchester United fans claim Harry Amass could be the next Gareth Bale

After Ibragimov posted a training clip earlier this week, Amass has now done his own and impressed fans.

Posted on F7 Coaching’s Instagram, Amass can be seen doing shooting drills in training and his skills here have left fans drawing comparisons.

One supporter wrote: “Could he be our Gareth Bale?”, referring to Amass being a left-footed defender who has an outstanding finish, much like a young Bale before he became a gifted winger.

A second chimed in with the comparisons: “Gareth Bale’s style held back by his looks.”

Amass’ ability to hit the ball continued to impress other fans: “That’s a LB…he got a fair shot on him.”

One pondered what he could be if he added goals to his game: “If he can become a goal threat…”

“Harry Amass is gearing up for what could be his breakthrough season next season. His shooting technique is so good you’d think he’s a winger,” another fan account wrote.

Another fan even suggested that Amass be tested during the US pre-season tour next month: “Let Harry Amass cook in pre-season.”

Why was Amass compared to Bale?

We all know Amass is a superb talent and it’s no shock that Luke Shaw voted him as the most exciting talent he’s seen.

But he is a left-back and Bale will become one of the best wingers of the 21st century so far, so where does the comparison come from?

Well, before Bale destroyed full-backs, he was a defender who was regularly broken down and at one point went on a 24-game unbeaten run which even prompted Sir Alex Ferguson to warn Harry Redknapp not to play him because of his bad luck.

But Redknapp saw something in Bale and moved him to the wing where he never looked back and became a five-time Champions League winner.

Therefore, Amass’ talent in forward positions has caused fans to make the connection.
