2 Charged in Peabody, Salem Fentanyl Drug Distribution Bust: Police

PEABODY, MA — A joint investigation by Peabody and Salem police into North Shore drug distribution that Peabody police said is “far from over” has resulted in charges against a Lynn man and a Peabody man in District Court Peabody this week.

Police said the suspects were arrested Tuesday, with Sterling Cuello-Soto, 31, of Lynn charged with fentanyl trafficking and drug distribution, and Thomas Gallant, 38, of Peabody, charged with possession and drug distribution.

Both were scheduled to appear in Peabody District Court on Thursday.

“The arrests were made after a comprehensive investigation, which demonstrates the commitment and cooperation between the Peabody and Salem Police Departments in addressing the serious problem of drug trafficking and distribution in the community,” Peabody Police said in a news release. “The investigation is far from over.

“We are diligently evaluating other evidence and additional charges may be forthcoming.”
