Leeds United transfer reality amid PSR concerns as Chelsea give Crysencio Summerville a shot

Chelsea could take advantage of Leeds United’s financial situation to complete another summer transfer in the coming days. But any hope of quickly getting a deal over the line could be dashed.

The Blues have been linked with a move for Crysencio Summerville, although Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise is their number one priority in attack. football.london understands the Blues are to open talks with Olise’s representatives over a move after receiving permission from Palace.

If the deal doesn’t go through though, they could turn their attention to Summerville. And with Leeds United having to balance their books to comply with the EFL’s Profit and Sustainability Rules, it could be an easier deal to get over the line.

However, Leeds no longer have the desperate need to raise funds that they previously had. An investment deal with Red Bull has helped their PSR deficit significantly, but they will still need to sell.

Leeds Live writer Beren Cross said football.london: “Whites chairman Paraag Marathe has already admitted that sales will be needed in this transfer window to ensure the club complies with PSR rules.

“The recent investment from Red Bull, understood to be the biggest sponsorship deal in EFL history, has helped the situation significantly. Marathe even said that this deal could be the difference between selling or keeping a key player this summer.”
