Steve Cooper has already given the thumbs up to Leicester City transfer target

After Leicester City’s transfer links with Joe Rodon emerged earlier this week, the club’s appointment of Steve Cooper as manager adds an interesting factor to this potential deal.

Rodon, 26, is currently on the books at Tottenham Hotspur. He impressed while on loan at Leeds United last season, although their failure to win promotion to the Premier League put the prospect of a permanent move there in jeopardy, as the Foxes and the other two newly-promoted sides are now rumored to be interested.




Moreover, if Leicester needed more pulling power in this transfer battle against their rivals, then they couldn’t have made a more perfect addition than Cooper in the dugout.

It was the 44-year-old who gave his fellow Welshman a successful Championship campaign while both were with Swansea City – a decision which eventually saw him spotted by Spurs scouts.

During that era, Cooper spoke incredibly highly of his centre-back, with his previous comments now providing a clearer picture of the player Leicester supporters could see pulling on the club’s blue armband in the not-so-distant future.
