Westminster and Lambeth are home to the highest priced new build homes – The Intermediary

Westminster, London has the highest average new home price at £1,809,875, according to analysis of ONS data by One Sure Insurance.

Lambeth was second with £1,241,949 and Hammersmith and Fulham came third with £1,137,613.

Hackney came fourth with an average new house price of £949,050, while Hertsmere in Hertfordshire came fifth at £932,500.

Other local authorities in the top 10 include Woking, New Forest, Broxbourne, St Albans and Islington.

Erewash in Derbyshire had the lowest average new home price at £122,750.

A spokesperson for One Sure Insurance said: “This study provides valuable insight into the range of prices for new build homes across local authorities in England and Wales.

“While they don’t tell us what the highest and lowest prices are, these average price points provide insight into the potential average cost for new homes.

“It’s worth noting that every borough in the top 20 is either based in London or somewhere in the south of England, which is probably due to how close they are to the capital or the south coast.

“Both locations can be desirable places to live for new owners as they are business and tourism centers respectively.

“There are also many neighborhoods in the top half of the list that are missing data for most housing types.

“This could mean that they either recorded price data only for newly built apartments and maisonettes, or that they were the only types of housing available in those areas last year, which may indicate the current housing market.”
