Manchester United and Arsenal could benefit from Leicester City’s need to satisfy the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules to sign star player Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall this summer.

Although the Foxes have stormed to Championship glory, their financial position is coming under scrutiny and they may be forced to “sacrifice” at least one of their star players, according to transfer news expert Ben Jacobs.

Jacobs explained to him GiveMeSport: “Leicester will need to sell despite reaching the Premier League and they may have to sell relatively quickly.

“And here Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall – a pure profit player as he is known – is perhaps someone the club feel at the right number to sacrifice, although the player has publicly said he has no intention of leaving. “

Man Utd the big threat

Arsenal have been linked with the 25-year-old, who is an attack-minded midfielder valued at around €40m (£35m) by his club, but Jacobs says the main interest among the elite The Premier League could come from Manchester United. .

“My understanding of Dewsbury-Hall was always that if Leicester didn’t go up, he could be available for up to £25m. But now that they have, I think we’re looking at £35m,” adds Jacobs.

“If we go back to January, Leicester actually valued him more at around £45m, but I don’t think it will be that much because of Leicester’s financial situation if they accept a deal.

“I think we’re looking at over £35m as a minimum for Dewsbury-Hall if they choose to sell and the player wants to leave even though he’s said he wants to stay. There remains interest from Brighton, Brentford could be in the mix and Manchester United is another club to watch.”

Dewsbury-Hall had an excellent season in the Championship, playing all but two games for the Foxes, scoring 12 goals and creating a further 14. His performances earned him a nomination for Championship Player of the Year, an award eventually won by to Leeds winger Crysencio Summerville.
